Summer Sandals

Happy Friday! I’m so happy it’s finally the weekend. I thought this week was never going to end!

Lately I have been obsessed with buying sandals. I just love how you can dress them up or down. So I thought it would be a good idea to show you some of my favorite summer sandals, all under $50!

Summer Trend: Pineapples

Happy Tuesday! This summer, pineapples have become a huge trend! Everything from shirts, cardigans, and even shoes! I have to say I do own a few things with pineapples on them, including this adorable shirt I found on the clearance rack at Target for only $6!

I paired this shirt with my lace shorts (which have been on major repeat this summer), my favorite chambray and bow sandals.

Since the pineapple shirt was on clearance and is no longer available, I tagged a few similar shirts that are even more adorable than this one!

Weekly Round-up 6/21/15

Happy Sunday! This weekly round-up was way over due. Some of the items in the photos are old or sold out, so I tagged similar ones.

I know a lot of you have been asking where I got these heels for only $31! Well I am finally posting the link, you can find them HERE.

I couldn’t find anything similar to the Sea Urchins (they are sold out), so I linked the original website and will let everyone know when they are back in stock! The lipgloss is from E.L.F.!

Ipsy June Glam Bag

A month ago, one of my friends posted a photo of her monthly Ipsy bag. I asked her what exactly it was, and she explained that Ipsy is a monthly subscription service where they send you samples of makeup in an adorable makeup bag once a month for only $10. Of course I was all about this a decided to sign up.

When I came home from work one day, I noticed a hot pink package in my mailbox (see photo above) and to my surprise it was my Ipsy bag! This month in the June Glam Bag, the topic is all about “Swimming into Beauty”. So all month long, Ipsy has been posting on their Instagram about everything summer, from mermaids to beaches (which is really making me want to take a beach vacation right about now).

Here are the items I received in my bag:
1. Trestique mini shadow crayon
2. Aurora Gel Effect nail lacquer
3. Smashbox Photo Finish foundation primer
4. it Cosmetics Brow Power universal eyebrow pencil
5. Altchek MD DePuff Eye Pads

Since this month was all about summer, the makeup bag was inspired by wetsuits and swim wear, so the material is neoprene and has a water-resistant lining and will dry quickly if it gets wet. This bag is perfect to take to the beach with you!

So far, I have tried the eye shadow crayon and primer, and love them both! I’m excited to try the rest of the products, especially the nail polish, I love the hot pink color!

Have you received your Ipsy June Glam Bag yet? Tag me in your photos so I can see what you got!

Printed Shorts

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a pretty busy weekend, but I enjoyed it. Why does Monday have to come so fast?

This summer I am obsessed with printed shorts. Not only are they comfortable, but you can dress them up or down! I made this look casual by adding a printed Jetset tee, a pair of gray booties and a necklace I received in my Rockbox.

My shorts are old and the shirt is sold out, so I linked similar items below (including shorts that are only $8!). My necklace is from If you don’t know what Rocksbox is, it’s a monthly subscription of $19 a month. You receive 3 pieces of designer jewelry that you can wear as much and long as you want, then send back to get new pieces. If you fall in love with them, you have the option to buy one or all at a discounted price. Each month Rocksbox gives you $10 to spend on jewelry.

Rocksbox chose me to be one of their “It Girls” and gave me a code for my readers to use to get their first month free! Just use promo code VALERIEBFF89 when signing up! Once you sign up and get your first box, tag me so I can see what you all received 🙂

My Favorite Romper

Happy Thursday! Just one more day until the weekend. This week has been a long one for me, and I’m just ready to relax!

I have been on the search for a romper that fits my body type since last summer. Every romper that I would try on just seems to look weird on me. I found this one at Target a few weeks ago and decided to try it on (but of course not getting my hopes up). I was so exited to see that it actually looked decent on me! So of course I had to buy it (linked below). I also found this cute pineapple cardigan on sale for $15! Unfortunately they do not sell the cardigan online, only in stores, so I just linked a plain cardigan below.

Of course, I had to add my favorite summer fedora to the outfit. I’m sure you will be seeing it a few times in my outfit posts this summer 🙂

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Makeup Reviews Thanks To Influenster!

First of all, I just wanted to let you all know why I was MIA for a couple weeks! I started a new job, which requires me to wake up super early (like 4:30am early) and I was trying to adjust to my new sleeping schedule. Usually I work on my blog posts when I get home from work, but instead I found myself napping because I was just so tired. But now that my body is used to my sleeping schedule, I am officially back! I have a lot of fun posts planned for you lovelies this month, so stayed tuned! Now on to the original post, and I apologize in advanced, because this post will be pretty long…

Happy Tuesday! To me, Tuesdays are the worst. On Mondays you are well rested after the weekend, then Tuesday rolls around and you are tired again and the weekend just seems far away. BUT I decided to turn my Tuesday into a great day by trying out a new lipstick (which I completely fell in love with, btw). I mean, what’s better than trying a new lipstick?

I signed up with Influenster (a website where you are sent free products to review) a few weeks ago and was sent my first box, the Bella VoxBox! I received some amazing products, and some not so amazing products. The first product I reviewed was the Dove Chocolate covered blueberries, which you can find the review on my instagram. I also reviewed the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs (see previous post for review).

Now I’m going to review the makeup products in the Bella VoxBox! The first product I’m going review is the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate (I’m wearing it in the first picture). When first opening the lipstick, I noticed that it had a nice smell, it smelled kind of like fruit! To my surprise, this lipstick was not sticky or thick whatsoever. I couldn’t even tell I had anything on. I fell in love with the color once I put it on. The only downfall would be it doesn’t last very long, especially when eating or drinking. But, to me it’s totally worth reapplying and I would buy it again in a heartbeat and try other shades!

On to the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Mascara created by Kate Moss. I have to say I was not a fan of this mascara (if you see the first picture, it looks like I’m not really wearing anything)… it did make my eyelashes seem long, but it didn’t give me any volume, it clumped really bad and smeared all over my face. Pieces were also flaking off and sticking to my contacts (was not happy). I will not be buying this product anytime soon.

The last makeup product to review is the EcoTools Complexion Collection Mattifying finish brush. The brush was actually really soft. I tried it with my CoverGirl pressed powder, and it didn’t really pick up much of the powder.  I feel like this brush would do well with loose powder, but I unfortunately do not use loose powder. So all I can really say is I would not recommend this brush if you use pressed powder.

My last Bella VoxBox product to review is the Not Your Mother’s Deja Vu Do Style Extender. I tried this product in my hair (I blow dried and straightened it) before I went to an all day music festival (to really put it to the test). First of all, this product smells AMAZING. It smells exactly like what it says, apples and berries. It did do a little bit to protect against humidity, but my ends still seemed to curl up a bit (St. Louis is so humid in the summer that I honestly don’t think anything would completely help). This product is also supposed to keep you hair from getting oily, which I did notice a little bit of a difference. Usually the next day after straightening my hair, it is super oily. But after using this product my hair was actually somewhat decent looking the next morning (even after getting super sunburned and sweating all day). I would buy this product again and maybe try putting more product on the ends of my hair to test it against humidity again.

Sorry for this post being so long! I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and stayed tuned for other fun posts I have planned this month!
